Solar panel installation vehicles as part of a solar panel installation system for a solar tracking system

A robotic solar panel installation vehicle for facilitating overhead installation of solar panels into a panel retention system supported on a torque tube of a solar tracking system, the robotic solar panel installation vehicle comprising:

• a chassis operable to support a solar panel dispensing hopper, the chassis comprising a torque tube spanning portion sized and configured to span the torque tube from a position above the torque tube, the chassis further comprising an opening through the spanning portion that defines a clearance operable to facilitate top-down passage of the solar panels through the clearance for installation;
• a first chassis support in support of the torque tube spanning portion of the chassis;
• and
• a second chassis support in support of the torque tube spanning portion of the chassis, the first and second chassis supports being offset from one another,
• wherein the installation vehicle is operable to move in one or more degrees of freedom to position the solar panel dispensing hopper in an overhead position relative to the panel retention system.
