Aircraft body section with multilayer electrically conductive structure and methods of fabrication

A multi-layered aircraft body section used to form a portion of an aircraft, the aircraft body section comprising:

• a first layer of composite material having unidirectional fibers;
• a first group of traces formed on the first layer of composite material, the first group of traces having first length portions, second length portions, and third length portions, the first length portions oriented at a first orientation relative to a direction along which the unidirectional fibers of the first layer of composite material extend, the first length portions having a first trace width, the second length portions oriented at a second orientation relative to the direction along which the unidirectional fibers extend, the second orientation different from the first orientation, the second length portions having a second trace width wider than the first trace width, the third length portions oriented at a third orientation relative to the direction along which the unidirectional fibers extend, the third orientation oriented between the first and second orientations, the third length portions having a third trace width that is wider than the first trace width and narrower than the second trace width;
• a second layer of composite material positioned in a stacked configuration with the first layer of composite material;
• and
• a first group of vias, the vias electrically coupled to respective traces and positioned within the second layer of composite material.
