Abstract
A system and method for securing equipment to a mobile system are disclosed. The mobile system includes a body supported on side rails and a separate pair of rails supported by the body. Equipment is removably secured to the pair of rails by one or more securing members to permit selective attachment and removal of the equipment while providing stable support during transport.
Claims14
A method for securing a piece of equipment selected from the group of a toolbox, a mud flap, or a fuel tank, to a mobile, wherein the vehicle includes a side rail and a body supported on the side rail, method comprising the steps of:
- (a) disposing a pair of rails underneath and supported by the body;
- and
- (b) removably securing the equipment to the pair of rails with a securing mechanism comprising a captive nut.
An apparatus for securing a piece of equipment selected from the group of a toolbox, a mud flap, or a fuel tank, to a mobile, wherein the vehicle including a side rail and a body disposed over the side rail, the apparatus comprising:
- (a) a pair of rails disposed underneath and supported by the body, wherein the pair of rails are disposed in parallel, and (b) a securing mechanism configured to removably secure the piece of equipment to the pair of rails, wherein the securing mechanism comprises a captive nut.
