Abstract
An exercise equipment, that includes (a) a frame that includes a vertically wall-mountable beam; (b) one or more brackets for connecting the vertically wall-mountable beam to a wall; (c) an arm that rotatable in relation to the vertically wall-mountable beam and is selectively positionable along the vertically wall-mountable beam; (d) a cable; (e) a resistance source, and (f) a cable transfer unit that is configured to convey the cable through a cable path formed within the frame.
Claims16
An exercise system, comprising:
- an exercise machine, comprising:
- a wall mountable frame, an exercise machine cable, and a resistance source configured to apply resistance to the exercise machine cable;
- and
- an add-on unit for selective use with the exercise machine, wherein the exercise machine is usable for performance of an exercise selectively with the add-on unit as well as independently of the add-on unit, wherein when the exercise machine is used independently of the add-on unit, the exercise machine cable is free of engagement with the add-on unit and a free end thereof is accessible for the performance of the exercise;
- and when the exercise machine is used with the add-on unit, the free end of the exercise machine cable is connected at least indirectly to the add-on unit, the add on add-on unit comprising:
- a frame mechanically coupled to a pulley system, the pulley system comprising a plurality of sheaves, and
- one or more add-on unit cables connectable, at least indirectly, to the exercise machine cable;
- the plurality of sheaves being configurable for modifying the resistance applied to the exercise machine cable when the exercise machine is used with the add-on unit and the free end of the exercise machine cable is connected to the one or more add-on unit cables via a connector or an interface.
A method of modifying resistance in an exercise machine, the exercise machine comprising a wall mountable frame, an exercise machine cable, and a resistance source configured to apply resistance onto the exercise machine cable, the method comprising:
- providing an add-on unit comprising a frame and a pulley system mechanically coupled to the frame;
- the pulley system comprising a plurality of sheaves, and one or more add-on unit cables, wherein the exercise machine is usable for performance of an exercise selectively with the add-on unit as well as independently of the add-on unit, wherein when the exercise machine is used independently of the add-on unit, the exercise machine cable is free of engagement with the add-on unit and a free end thereof is accessible for the performance of the exercise;
- and when the exercise machine is used with the add-on unit, the free end of the exercise machine cable is connected at least indirectly to the add-on unit;
- connecting the one or more add-on unit cables at least indirectly to the free end of the exercise machine cable via a connector or an interface;
- and
- configuring the pulley system to modify the resistance applied to the exercise machine cable.
