Abstract
Uses for activated or inactivated fibroblasts or fibroblast-derived materials, such as exosomes from fibroblasts, for wound care are provided. The methods and compositions are useful for purpose of tissue differentiation, cell recruitment, differentiation of local stem cells, and expansion of local cells, such as keratocytes, vasal epithelial cells, myofibroblasts, and/or dermal fibroblasts, including for initiating and/or maintaining wound healing.
Claims19
A method of treating one or more wounds in an individual,
- comprising the step of topically administering to the individual a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising 3D spheroid fibroblasts and a fibroblast-derived material, wherein the fibroblast-derived material is one or more of extracellular vesicles, exosomes, microvesicles, apoptotic bodies, and/or fragments of fibroblast cells.
A method of accelerating the healing of one or more wounds in an individual, comprising the step of topically administering to the individual a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising 3D spheroid fibroblasts and a fibroblast-derived material, wherein the fibroblast-derived material is one or more of extracellular vesicles, exosomes, microvesicles, apoptotic bodies, and/or fragments of fibroblast cells.
