Rocking-transitioned multimodal containers

A storage container comprising:

• a container comprising
• a catch mechanism located at a distal end of the container;
• a lid configured to removably cover the container in a lid mode, the lid comprising:
• an angle engagement feature extending along an edge of a wall and defining a curvilinear path comprising an apex between a front and a rear of the lid;
• and
• a first lid engagement feature;
• a housing comprising:
• an angle engagement slide configured to slidingly engage the angle engagement feature when the lid is being pulled out of the housing;
• and,
• a container slide configured to slidingly receive the edge, wherein:
• at least the angle engagement feature and the catch mechanism are configured such that:
• the lid is biased such that a distal end of the lid rocks up and the lid engages the catch mechanism, and
• when the lid is rocked down the lid disengages from the catch mechanism,
• the container further comprises:
• a second lid engagement feature, and
• the first lid engagement feature and the second lid engagement feature are configured such that, in a support mode, when the lid is supported in the angle engagement slide beneath the container and the container is slid out of the housing beyond a first distance, then the first lid engagement feature and the second lid engagement feature interact to extend the lid from the housing such that the lid supports at least a portion of a weight of the container.
