Abstract
To provide an antimicrobial/antiviral composition having an excellent immediate effect while the content of monovalent copper compound is low. The antimicrobial/antiviral composition includes: a resin; an antimicrobial/antiviral agent containing monovalent copper compound microparticles coated with a dispersant; and a hydrophilic compound that is dispersed in the resin and is immiscible with the resin.
Claims14
An antimicrobial/antiviral composition comprising:
- monovalent copper compound microparticles comprising at least one of cuprous oxide and copper iodide;
- a resin;
- a dispersant comprising at least one of a metal oxide and a metal soap;
- and
- 1 mass % to 10 mass % of a hydrophilic compound,
- wherein the metal soap is a fatty acid and a metal selected from the group consisting of lithium, magnesium, calcium, barium, and zinc,
- wherein the hydrophilic compound is at least one selected from the group consisting of polyvinylpyrrolidone and polyethylene glycol,
- wherein the hydrophilic compound is immiscible with the resin and causes discontinuous phases that are micro-dispersed in the resin, and
- wherein a phase-separated structure is formed with the hydrophilic compound and the resin, and phase separation of the phase-separated structure occurs microscopically.
