Abstract
Systems and methods for a datacenter cooling system are disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a quick disconnect (QD) adapter can be associated with a mating rotational coupler of a rack-mounted coolant distribution unit (CDU) by a rotational action on a rotational coupler of a first side of a QD adapter and can be associated with a mating QD coupler of at least one cooling loop by a linear action on a linear coupler of a second side a QD adapter.
Claims16
A datacenter cooling system, comprising:
- a quick disconnect (QD) adapter comprising a first side and a second side, the QD adapter configured to couple with a rotational coupler of a rack-mounted coolant distribution unit (CDU) on the first side of the QD adapter by a rotational action on a rotational coupling, and the QD adapter further configured to couple to and decouple from a mating QD coupler on the second side of the QD adapter by a linear action on a linear coupling, wherein the second side comprises a series of circumferential ridges configured to mate with inner ridges of the mating QD coupler.
A quick disconnect (QD) adapter comprising a first side and a second side, the QD adapter configured to couple with a rotational coupler of a rack-mounted coolant distribution unit (CDU) on the first side of the QD adapter by a rotational action on a rotational coupling, and the QD adapter further configured to couple to and decouple from a mating QD coupler on the second side the QD adapter by a linear action on a linear coupling, wherein the second side comprises a series of circumferential ridges configured to mate with inner ridges of the mating QD coupler.
A method for datacenter cooling system, comprising:
- providing a quick disconnect (QD) adapter comprising a rotational coupler on a first side of the QD adapter and comprising a linear coupler on a second side of the QD adapter;
- determining that a rack-mounted coolant distribution unit (CDU) is to be coupled to at least one cooling loop of a rack;
- coupling the QD adapter with a mating rotational coupler of the rack-mounted CDU by a rotational action on the rotational coupler;
- and
- coupling the QD adapter with a mating QD coupler of the cooling loop by a linear action on the linear coupler, wherein the second side comprises a series of circumferential ridges configured to mate with inner ridges of the mating QD coupler.
