Abstract
An example device for retrieving media data includes a memory; and a processing system comprising one or more processors implemented in circuitry, the processing system being configured to: receive a packet including a packet header and a payload including at least a portion of a frame of video data, the packet header being separate from the payload; extract, from the packet header, a video frame identifier for the frame of video data; and process the payload according to the video frame identifier.
Claims41
A method of transporting video data, the method comprising:
- receiving, by a network device between a source device and a destination device, a first real-time transport protocol (RTP) packet from the source device destined for the destination device, the first RTP packet including a first RTP packet header and a first payload including at least a first portion of a frame of video data, the first RTP packet header being separate from the first payload, the first RTP packet header further including a first RTP header extension, the at least first portion of the frame corresponding to a first protocol data unit (PDU), the frame of video data corresponding to a protocol data unit (PDU) Set including the first PDU;
- extracting, by the network device and from the first RTP header extension, a video frame identifier for the at least first portion of the frame of video data, the video frame identifier indicating a display order value for the at least first portion of the frame;
- receiving, by the network device, a second RTP packet from the source device destined for the destination device, the second RTP packet including a second RTP packet header and a second payload including at least a second portion of the frame of video data, the second RTP packet header being separate from the second payload, the second RTP packet header further including a second RTP header extension, the at least second portion of the frame corresponding to a second PDU of the PDU Set;
- extracting, by the network device and from the second RTP header extension, the video frame identifier for the at least second portion of the frame of video data;
- determining, by the network device, a quality of service (QoS) flow identifier (QFI) for the PDU Set according to the video frame identifier;
- and
- performing, by the network device, QoS processing on the first RTP packet and the second RTP packet according to the QFI for the PDU Set.
A network device for transporting video data from a source device to a destination device, the network device comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- a processing system comprising one or more processors implemented in circuitry, the processing system being configured to:
- receive a first real-time transport protocol (RTP) packet from the source device destined for the destination device, the first RTP packet including a first RTP packet header and a first payload including at least a first portion of a frame of video data, the first RTP packet header being separate from the first payload, the first RTP packet header further including a first RTP header extension, the at least first portion of the frame corresponding to a first protocol data unit (PDU), the frame of video data corresponding to a protocol data unit (PDU) Set including the first PDU;
- extract, from the first RTP header extension, a video frame identifier for the at least first portion of the frame of video data, the video frame identifier indicating a display order value for the at least first portion of the frame;
- receive a second RTP packet from the source device destined for the destination device, the second RTP packet including a second RTP packet header and a second payload including at least a second portion of the frame of video data, the second RTP packet header being separate from the second payload, the second RTP packet header further including a second RTP header extension, the at least second portion of the frame corresponding to a second PDU of the PDU Set;
- extract, from the second RTP header extension, the video frame identifier for the at least second portion of the frame of video data;
- determine a quality of service (QoS) flow identifier (QFI) for the PDU Set according to the video frame identifier;
- and
- perform QoS processing on the first RTP packet and the second RTP packet according to the QFI for the PDU Set.
A network device for transporting video data from a source device to a destination device, the network device comprising:
- means for receiving a first real-time transport protocol (RTP) packet from the source device destined for the destination device, the first RTP packet including a first RTP packet header and a first payload including at least a first portion of a frame of video data, the first RTP packet header being separate from the first payload, the first RTP packet header further including a first RTP header extension, the at least first portion of the frame corresponding to a first protocol data unit (PDU), the frame of video data corresponding to a protocol data unit (PDU) Set including the first PDU;
- means for extracting, from the first RTP header extension, a video frame identifier for the at least first portion of the frame of video data, the video frame identifier indicating a display order value for the at least first portion of the frame;
- means for receiving a second RTP packet from the source device destined for the destination device, the second RTP packet including a second RTP packet header and a second payload including at least a second portion of the frame of video data, the second RTP packet header being separate from the second payload, the second RTP packet header further including a second RTP header extension, the at least second portion of the frame corresponding to a second PDU of the PDU Set;
- means for extracting, from the second RTP header extension, the video frame identifier for the at least second portion of the frame of video data;
- means for determining a quality of service (QoS) flow identifier (QFI) for the PDU Set according to the video frame identifier;
- and
- means for performing QoS processing on the first RTP packet and the second RTP packet according to the QFI for the PDU Set.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having stored thereon instructions that, when executed, cause a processor of a network device between a source device and a destination device to:
- receive a first real-time transport protocol (RTP) packet from the source device destined for the destination device, the first RTP packet including a first RTP packet header and a first payload including at least a first portion of a frame of video data, the first RTP packet header being separate from the first payload, the first RTP packet header further including a first RTP header extension, the at least first portion of the frame corresponding to a first protocol data unit (PDU), the frame of video data corresponding to a protocol data unit (PDU) Set including the first PDU;
