Abstract
A display device incudes memory, a display, a communication interface, and a processor. The processor obtains and stores pixel data of a content screen displayed by an external display device, extracts an additional information area included in the content screen based on the stored pixel data, and displays the extracted additional information area.

A display device comprising:
- a display;
- and
- a processor configured to:
- analyze pixel data of a content screen that is displayed on an external display device, wherein the content screen includes content and an additional information area including additional information related to the content,
- extract the additional information area based on the analyzed pixel data,
- display, on the display, the extracted additional information area, and
- control the display to update at least part of the additional information area displayed on the display according to a change of the content screen displayed by the external display device per a preset update time point.

A method of a display device that includes a display, the method comprising:
- analyzing pixel data of a content screen that is displayed on an external display device, wherein the content screen includes content and an additional information area including additional information related to the content,
- extracting the additional information area based on the analyzed pixel data,
- displaying, on the display, the extracted additional information area, and
- updating at least part of the additional information area displayed on the display according to a change of the content screen displayed by the external display device per a preset update time point.
