Abstract
When a notification event occurs in an image processing apparatus installed in a real world, a device management tool/service notifies a content of the notification event to an administrator avatar of the image processing apparatus in a virtual office as a device management avatar, and accepts an instruction from the administrator avatar via the device management avatar in the virtual office.

A device management service system that manages a network device installed in a real world, and cooperates with a providing system that includes one or more servers and provides a virtual office corresponding to a service that makes use of a function of the network device by an operation performed by an avatar in the virtual office, the device management service system comprising:
- one or more memories storing instructions, and
- one or more processors capable of executing the instructions causing the device management service system to:
- send, to the providing system, a request for location information of an administrator avatar of an administrator of the network device;
- receive, from the providing system, coordinates corresponding to a location of the administrator avatar in the virtual office;
- based on occurrence of a notification event in the network device, use the coordinates to locate the administrator avatar and notify a content of the notification event to the administrator of the network device via a device management avatar in the virtual office;
- and
- receive, via the device management avatar in the virtual office, an instruction for the notification event from the administrator.
A method of controlling a device management service system that manages a network device installed in a real world, and cooperates with a providing system that includes one or more servers and provides a virtual office corresponding to a service for using a function of the network device by an operation from an avatar in the virtual office, the method comprising:
- sending, to the providing system, a request for location information of an administrator avatar of an administrator of the network device;
- receiving, from the providing system, coordinates corresponding to a location of the administrator avatar in the virtual office;
- based on occurrence of a notification event in the network device, using the coordinates to locate the administrator avatar and notify a content of the notification event to the administrator of the network device via a device management avatar in the virtual office;
- and
- receiving, via the device management avatar in the virtual office, an instruction for the notification event from the administrator.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a device management service system that manages a network device installed in a real world, and cooperates with a providing system that includes one or more servers and provides a virtual office corresponding to a service for using a function of the network device by an operation from an avatar in the virtual office, cause the device management service system to perform a control method comprising:
- sending, to the providing system, a request for location information of an administrator avatar of an administrator of the network device;
- receiving, from the providing system, coordinates corresponding to a location of the administrator avatar in the virtual office;
- based on occurrence of a notification event in the network device, using the coordinates to locate the administrator avatar and notify a content of the notification event to the administrator of the network device via a device management avatar in the virtual office;
- and
- receiving, via the device management avatar in the virtual office, an instruction for the notification event from the administrator.
