Abstract
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining a request pertaining to an onboarding of an application supporting a communication network or system, based on the obtaining of the request, establishing a profile for the application, selecting first resources of a first cloud computing network to support the application, based on the selecting of the first resources, configuring at least one resource of the first resources based on the profile, and deploying a first instance of the application to utilize the first resources. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims20
A device, comprising:
- a processing system including a processor;
- and
- a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- obtaining a request pertaining to an onboarding of an application supporting a communication network or system;
- based on the obtaining of the request, establishing a plurality of profiles for the application, wherein the plurality of profiles includes a first profile that defines a scope of user and component roles, a second profile that maps environment and resource ownership considerations to applications, users, and resources, and a third profile that provides a history of resource use and projection over time and estimated costs;
- selecting first resources of a first cloud computing network and second resources of a premise environment to support the application;
- based on the selecting of the first resources and the second resources, configuring at least one resource of the first resources and at least one resource of the second resources based on the plurality of profiles;
- and
- deploying, via a control plane that is common to the first cloud computing network and the premise environment, a first instance of the application to utilize the first resources and the second resources.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- obtaining a request pertaining to an onboarding of an application;
- based on the obtaining of the request, establishing a plurality of profiles for the application, wherein the plurality of profiles includes a first profile that defines a scope of user and component roles, a second profile that maps environment and resource ownership considerations to applications, users, and resources, and a third profile that provides a history of resource use and projection over time and estimated costs;
- selecting first resources of a first cloud computing network and second resources of a premise environment to support the application;
- based on the selecting of the first resources and the second resources, configuring at least one resource of the first resources and at least one resource of the second resources based on the plurality of profiles;
- and
- deploying, via a control plane that is common to the first cloud computing network and the premise environment, a first instance of the application to utilize the first resources and the second resources.
A method, comprising:
- obtaining, by a processing system including a processor, a request pertaining to an application supporting a communication network or system;
- based on the obtaining of the request, establishing, by the processing system, a plurality of profiles for the application, wherein the plurality of profiles includes a first profile that defines a scope of user and component roles, a second profile that maps environment and resource ownership considerations to users, and a third profile that establishes role-based authentication and authorization responsibilities and permissions;
- selecting, by the processing system, first resources of a first cloud computing network and second resources of a premise environment to support the application;
- based on the selecting of the first resources and the second resources, configuring, by the processing system, at least one resource of the first resources and at least one resource of the second resources based on the plurality of profiles;
- and
- deploying, by the processing system and via a control plane that is common to the first cloud computing network and the premise environment, a first instance of the application to utilize the first resources and the second resources.
