Abstract
A system that, responsive to a request to transfer an amount of funds to a gaming device, facilitates a first transfer of an amount of funds from a gaming establishment account and/or a second transfer of an amount of funds associated with a line of credit to the gaming device.
Claims17
A gaming establishment credit system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor after an occurrence of a request, made in association with a gaming establishment fund management system operating independent of the gaming establishment credit system, to transfer a first amount of funds from a gaming establishment account maintained by a server of the gaming establishment fund management system to an electronic gaming machine comprising a housing comprising an access door and a security monitoring circuit supported by the housing and after a computation, by the server of the gaming establishment fund management system, that the gaming establishment account is associated with a second amount of funds that is greater than zero and less than the first amount of funds, cause the processor to automatically and independent of any input received from any user:
- compute an amount of funds available in association with an established line of credit, and
- responsive to the amount of funds available in association with the established line of credit being at least a third amount of funds, communicate data that results in a modification of the gaming establishment account based on the third amount of funds, wherein:
- a sum of the second amount of funds and the third amount of funds equals the first amount of funds,
- the modification of the gaming establishment account based on the third amount of funds is associated with a first transaction identifier stored in a database accessible by the processor, and
- following the modification of the gaming establishment account and responsive to a receipt of data associated with an opening of the access door of the electronic gaming machine detected via the security monitoring circuit of the electronic gaming machine:
- any communication of data that results in any modification of a balance of the electronic gaming machine based on any amount of funds from the gaming establishment account is disabled, and
- following a receipt of data associated with at least a closing of the access door of the electronic gaming machine detected via the security monitoring circuit of the electronic gaming machine and independent of any inputs received associated with any activation of any amount of funds from the established line of credit, a communication of data is enabled to automatically occur to result in a modification of the balance of the electronic gaming machine based on the first amount of funds, wherein:
- the modification of the balance of the electronic gaming machine is associated with a second, different transaction identifier stored in a database accessible by the server of the gaming establishment fund management system,
- a master transaction identifier accessible by each of the processor and the server of the gaming establishment fund management system is associated with both the first transaction identifier and the second, different transaction identifier, and
- the master transaction identifier enables the processor to retrieve data associated with the modification of the balance of the electronic gaming machine stored in the database accessible by the server of the gaming establishment fund management system and further enables the server of the gaming establishment fund management system to independently retrieve data associated with the modification of the balance of the electronic gaming machine stored in the database accessible by the processor.

A gaming establishment fund management system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
- receive data associated with a request to transfer a first amount of funds from a gaming establishment account to an electronic gaming machine comprising a housing comprising an access door and a security monitoring circuit supported by the housing, and
- responsive to a receipt of data associated with an opening of the access door of the electronic gaming machine detected via the security monitoring circuit of the electronic gaming machine:
- disable any communication of data that results in any modification of a balance of the electronic gaming machine based on any amount of funds from the gaming establishment account, and
- following a receipt of data associated with at least a closing of the access door of the electronic gaming machine detected via the security monitoring circuit of the electronic gaming machine and responsive to the gaming establishment account being associated with a second amount of funds that is greater than zero and less than the first amount of funds:
- automatically and independent of any inputs received associated with any activation of any amount of funds from any established line of credit, enable a communication of a request for a third amount of funds to a computing component of a gaming establishment credit system that maintains an established line of credit and operates independent of the processor, wherein a sum of the second amount of funds and the third amount of funds equals the first amount of funds, and
- responsive to the third amount of funds being activated from the established line of credit and transferred, by the computing component of the gaming establishment credit system, to the gaming establishment account, automatically and independent of any input received from any user:
- approve the request to transfer the first amount of funds from the gaming establishment account to the electronic gaming machine, and
- communicate data that results in a modification of the balance of the electronic gaming machine based on the first amount of funds, wherein the approval of the request to transfer the first amount of funds is associated with a first transaction identifier stored in a database accessible by the processor, the activation of the third amount of funds is associated with a second, different transaction identifier stored in a database accessible by the computing component of the gaming establishment credit system, a master transaction identifier accessible by the processor and by the computing component of the gaming establishment credit system is associated with both the first transaction identifier and the second, different transaction identifier, and the master transaction identifier enables the processor to retrieve data associated with the activation of the third amount of funds stored in the database accessible by the computing component of the gaming establishment credit system and further enables the computing component of the gaming establishment credit system to independently retrieve data associated with the approval of the request to transfer the first amount of funds stored in the database accessible by the processor.

A method of operating a gaming establishment credit system, the method comprising:
- after an occurrence of a request, made in association with a gaming establishment fund management system operating independent of the gaming establishment credit system, to transfer a first amount of funds from a gaming establishment account maintained by a server of the gaming establishment fund management system to an electronic gaming machine comprising a housing comprising an access door and a security monitoring circuit supported by the housing and after a computation, by the server of the gaming establishment fund management system, that the gaming establishment account is associated with a second amount of funds that is greater than zero and less than the first amount of funds, automatically and independent of any input received from any user:
- computing, by a processor of the gaming establishment credit system, an amount of funds available in association with an established line of credit, and
- responsive to the amount of funds available in association with the established line of credit being at least a third amount of funds, communicating data that results in a modification of the gaming establishment account based on the third amount of funds, wherein:
- a sum of the second amount of funds and the third amount of funds equals the first amount of funds,
- the modification of the gaming establishment account based on the third amount of funds is associated with a first transaction identifier stored in a database accessible by the processor of the gaming establishment credit system, and
- following the modification of the gaming establishment account and responsive to a receipt of data associated with an opening of the access door of the electronic gaming machine detected via the security monitoring circuit of the electronic gaming machine:
- any communication of data that results in any modification of a balance of the electronic gaming machine based on any amount of funds from the gaming establishment account is disabled, and
- following a receipt of data associated with at least a closing of the access door of the electronic gaming machine detected via the security monitoring circuit of the electronic gaming machine and independent of any inputs received associated with any activation of any amount of funds from the established line of credit, a communication of data is enabled to automatically occurs to results in a modification of the balance of the electronic gaming machine based on the first amount of funds, wherein:
- the modification of the balance of the electronic gaming machine is associated with a second, different transaction identifier stored in a database accessible by the server of the gaming establishment fund management system,
- a master transaction identifier accessible by each of the processor of the gaming establishment credit system and the server of the gaming establishment fund management system is associated with both the first transaction identifier and the second, different transaction identifier, and
- the master transaction identifier enables the processor to retrieve data associated with the modification of the balance of the electronic gaming machine stored in the database accessible by the server of the gaming establishment fund management system and further enables the server of the gaming establishment fund management system to independently retrieve data associated with the modification of the balance of the electronic gaming machine stored in the database accessible by the processor.
