Abstract
Various embodiments provide systems and methods for validating imaging of a monitored individual.
Claims19
A system for monitoring an individual, the system comprising:
- a user detached monitor device, wherein the user detached monitor device includes:
- a camera;
- a frame rate control module configured to generate an image timing output that is modified in at least one phase;
- a communication circuit;
- and
- a processor and a computer readable medium communicably coupled to the processor, wherein the computer readable medium includes instructions which when executed by the processor cause:
- the camera to capture a series of images at respective times governed by the image timing output;
- processing the series of images to detect artefacts indicative of images captured from a prerecorded video;
- and
- indicating that the series of images represent a live individual when fewer than a defined number of artefacts are detected.

A system for monitoring an individual, the system comprising:
- a user detached monitor device, wherein the user detached monitor device includes:
- a camera;
- a frame rate control module configured to generate an image timing output that is modified in at least one of phase;
- a communication circuit;
- and
- a first processor and a first computer readable medium communicably coupled to the first processor, wherein the first computer readable medium includes instructions which when executed by the first processor cause:
- the camera to capture a series of images at respective times governed by the image timing output;
- and
- the communication circuit to transmit the series of images to a central monitoring station;
- the central monitoring station communicably coupled to the user detached monitor device via the communication circuit, wherein the central monitoring station comprises:
- a second processor and a second computer readable medium communicably coupled to the second processor, wherein the second computer readable medium includes instructions which when executed by the second processor cause:
- the central monitoring station to process the series of images to detect artefacts indicative of images captured from a prerecorded video;
- and
- indicate that the series of images represent a live individual when fewer than a defined number of artefacts are detected.
