Utilizing user-profile to prioritize processing of messages

A system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
• receiving, at a messaging platform, a message to be processed and delivered to a messaging account of a user registered with a messaging service;
• obtaining, at the messaging platform, account metadata associated with the messaging account;
• determining, using the account metadata, an account status indicating a present availability of the user during which the message is to be processed;
• determining, at the messaging platform and based on traffic received through a secure email gateway (SEG), account utilization data associated with the messaging account and including computer-centric interactions at the messaging service;
• determining, using the account utilization data, an activity pattern;
• classifying, based at least in part on the account status and the activity pattern, the message as belonging to a priority class from among a group of priority classes;
• based on the priority class of the message, placing the message at a position in a processing queue associated with the messaging platform, wherein the messaging platform processes messages in the processing queue based at least in part on positions of the messages in the processing queue;
• and
• processing, by the messaging service, the message based at least in part on the position in the processing queue such that the messaging service processes a limited number of messages in a manner that saves computing resources associated with the messaging platform by reducing virtual machine (VM) instances scaled for all message processing.

One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, at a messaging platform, a message to be processed and delivered to a messaging account of a user registered with a messaging service;
• determining, at the messaging platform and based on traffic received through a secure email gateway (SEG), account utilization data associated with the messaging account and indicating computer-centric interactions at the messaging service;
• determining an account status indicating a present availability of the user during which the message is to be processed;
• determining, using the account utilization data, an activity pattern indicating a pattern according to which the user interacts with their messaging account;
• classifying, based at least in part on the account status and the activity pattern, the message as belonging to a priority class from among a group of priority classes;
• based on the priority class of the message, placing the message at a position in a processing queue associated with the messaging platform, wherein the messaging platform processes messages in the processing queue based at least in part on positions of the messages in the processing queue;
• and
• processing, by the messaging service, the message based at least in part on the position in the processing queue such that the messaging service processes a limited number of messages in a manner that saves computing resources associated with the messaging platform by reducing virtual machine (VM) instances scaled for all message processing.
