Abstract
An article reading system according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes: at least one memory configured to store instructions: and at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to: identify a reading position from an image including a gate and a customer; and execute reading of article information from a wireless tag appended to an article, using an article reader provided to the gate.

An article reading system, comprising:
- at least one memory configured to store instructions:
- and
- at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to:
- identify a reading position from an image including a gate and a customer;
- execute reading of article information from a wireless tag appended to an article with a reading method based on the identified reading position, using an article reader provided to the gate;
- and
- when there is no person other than the customer around the customer,
- execute the reading by enhancing output intensity of a reading radio wave for reading the wireless tag based on the reading position.
