Refrigerant liquid-gas separator

A refrigerant system, comprising:

• a compressor fluidically coupled downstream to a liquid-gas separator device, the compressor configured to compress refrigerant released by the liquid-gas separator device;
• a condenser fluidically coupled downstream to the compressor, the condenser configured to condense refrigerant that has been compressed by the compressor;
• an evaporator fluidically coupled downstream to the condenser and upstream to the liquid-gas separator device, the evaporator configured to evaporate refrigerant;
• and
• the liquid-gas separator device fluidically coupled between the compressor and the evaporator, the liquid-gas separator device comprising:
• a cavity configured to receive and substantially separate liquid refrigerant from vapor refrigerant, the cavity including:
• a refrigerant inlet;
• a refrigerant outlet, the refrigerant outlet positioned on a bottom surface of the liquid-gas separator device;
• a planar divider, parallel to the refrigerant inlet and the refrigerant outlet and extending from at least one wall of the cavity into the cavity, the planar divider i) at least partially defining at least two sub-cavities including an inlet sub-cavity and an outlet sub-cavity, ii) preventing a flow of refrigerant through the planar divider, and iii) defining a flow path between the inlet sub-cavity and the outlet sub-cavity over or under the planar divider;
• and
• an outlet tube disposed in fluid communication with the outlet sub-cavity and the refrigerant outlet, the outlet tube configured to prevent liquid refrigerant from exiting via the refrigerant outlet while enabling vapor refrigerant to exit;
• the at least two sub-cavities configured to direct the flow of refrigerant from the evaporator to the compressor until heat from thermally coupled electronics convert the liquid refrigerant to vapor refrigerant;
• and
• the electronics thermally coupled to a surface of the cavity, such that heat from the electronics is transferred to the refrigerant received at the cavity.
