Abstract
A separator for alkaline electrolysis comprising a support (10) and a porous layer (20) provided on the support, characterized in that the support is capable of being substantially removed from the separator. The support is preferably removed by the electrolyte of an alkaline electrolyser.

A porous separator for alkaline water electrolysis comprising a porous support and a porous layer provided on the porous support, characterized in that the porous support is capable of being substantially removed from the porous separator, and the porous separator has a maximum pore diameter (PDmax) between 0.05 and 2 μm.
