Abstract
The present invention is related to fermentative production of isoprenoids, comprising cultivation of a suitable host cell, such as fungal host cell, particularly oleaginous host cell, in an improved two-phase culture system.
Claims13
A process for fermentative production of isoprenoids with less than 40 carbons as backbone in a two-phase culture system, comprising in situ extraction of said isoprenoids, wherein the process comprises cultivating a suitable host cell in the presence of a carbon source and a lipophilic solvent, wherein the lipophilic solvent is different from the carbon source, and wherein the lipophilic solvent comprises isoparaffins wherein the host cell is a fungal cell.
