Method for single-stage treatment of siliceous subterranean formations

A method of treating a siliceous geologic formation, the method comprising:

• flowing a treatment composition into the siliceous geologic formation, wherein the treatment composition has a pH of about −1.0 to about 6.0 and comprises:
• an acid having molecular weight less than about 200 or an ammonium or sodium salt thereof;
• an HF source;
• a precipitation prevention agent;
• and
• a transient modifier comprising a degradable material suspended in the treatment composition, wherein the degradable material comprises at least one of droplets of a hydrophobic liquid, droplets of the acid, droplets of a gas, or solid particles;
• allowing the transient modifier to modify a permeability of the siliceous geologic formation via accumulation of the degradable material in interpore space or on a face of the siliceous geologic formation;
• and
• removing the transient modifier from the interpore space or the face of the siliceous geologic formation to limit residue in the siliceous geologic formation.
