Abstract
A polymer composition that includes a polyarylene sulfide is disclosed. The polymer composition can be utilized in forming components of an electric vehicle, such as electrical components and/or thermal management system components.
Claims21
A polymer composition comprising:
- from 50 wt. % to 90 wt. % of at least one polyarylene sulfide;
- from 25 to 80 parts by weight of a fibrous filler per 100 parts by weight of the polyarylene sulfide, wherein the fibrous filler includes glass fibers;
- from 1 to 20 parts by weight of at least one impact modifier per 100 parts by weight of the polyarylene sulfide;
- and
- from 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of an ultrahigh molecular weight siloxane polymer per 100 parts by weight of the polyarylene sulfide, the siloxane polymer having a weight average molecular weight of about 100,000 grams per mole or more,
- wherein the polymer composition exhibits a melt viscosity of 5 kP or less as determined in accordance with ISO 1143:2021 at a temperature of 310° C. and shear rate of 400 s−1, and a tensile stress at break of from 120 to 200 MPa as determined at a temperature of 23° C. in accordance with ISO 527:2019.
