Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for isolating 2-(4′-diethylamino-2′-hydroxybenzoyl)benzoic acid hexyl ester with a high purity and low phthalic acid dialkyl ester content.
Claims15
A process for isolating crystalline 2-(4′-diethylamino-2′-hydroxybenzoyl)benzoic acid hexyl ester comprising the steps of
- a) dissolving a mixture comprising 2-(4′-diethylamino-2′-hydroxybenzoyl)benzoic acid hexyl ester in a solvent having a boiling point of at most 110° C. to obtain a solution;
- b) cooling the solution to a temperature in the range of from 20 to 40° C.;
- c) adding seed crystals of 2-(4′-diethylamino-2′-hydroxybenzoyl)benzoic acid hexyl ester to the solution;
- d) cooling the solution to a temperature below 5° C. to obtain a suspension;
- e) filtering the suspension to isolate 2-(4′-diethylamino-2′-hydroxybenzoyl)benzoic acid hexyl ester in crystalline form.
