Abstract

A vertical collating system includes a plurality of channels, each channel, of the plurality of channels, having one or more channel walls. The system includes a plurality of feeders configured to hold a plurality of objects, each feeder, of the plurality of feeders, corresponding to a respective channel, of the plurality of channels, and configured to dispense one or more objects of the plurality of objects into the respective channel. The respective channel has a material that engages the object as the object is dispensed through the respective channel, and a first coefficient of friction between the object and the material is different than a second coefficient of the friction between the object and the one or more channel walls of the respective channel. The system includes an accumulation area configured to receive each dispensed object from each respective channel to form a set of collated objects.
