Abstract
A flight module for a vertical take-off and landing aircraft comprises multiple drive units arranged on a supporting framework structure that comprises struts interconnected at node points. Each drive unit comprises an electric motor and a propeller that is operatively connected to the electric motor. Some of the drive units are arranged outside the node points.
Claims20
A flight module for a vertical take-off and landing aircraft, wherein the flight module is connectable to a transport module for transporting persons and/or payload of the aircraft and comprises a supporting framework structure which comprises framework struts connected to one another at node points by connecting pieces and forming a self-contained supporting framework structure, wherein several drive units which each comprise a drive unit comprising an electric motor and at least one propeller operatively connected to the electric motor are arranged on the supporting framework structure, at least some of the drive units being affixed to the framework struts of the supporting framework structure by fixing elements, and wherein the flight module further comprises a coupling device for coupling and uncoupling the flight module to and from the transport module and additionally comprises one or more air guiding devices affixed to the framework struts and/or the connecting pieces of the supporting framework structure, the one or more air guiding devices being configured such that their position can be rotated in relation to a rest of the flight module with a variable angle of incidence ß.
A flight module for a vertical take-off and landing aircraft, wherein the flight module is connectable to a transport module for transporting persons and/or payload of the aircraft and comprises a supporting framework structure which comprises framework struts that are connected by connecting pieces at node points to form a self-contained supporting framework structure, wherein a plurality of drive units each of which comprises an electric motor and at least one propeller operatively connected to the electric motor is arranged on the supporting framework structure, at least some of the drive units being affixed to the framework struts of the supporting framework structure by fixing elements, wherein the flight module further comprises a coupling device for coupling and uncoupling the flight module to and from the transport module, and wherein at least some of the framework struts are formed as a hollow profile which has a variable wall thickness in a circumferential direction of the framework strut and/or has a variable wall thickness along a longitudinal extension of the framework strut.
