Abstract
Reversible seat systems for boats, methods of using the reversible seat systems, and boats including the reversible seat systems are described herein. The reversible seat systems described herein can be moved between a forward-facing configuration and aft-facing configuration by rotating a seat of the seat system about a seat axis generally aligned with the deck of a boat on which the seat system is mounted.

A reversible seat system for a boat, the reversible seat system comprising:
- a platform configured to be attached to a deck of a boat;
- and
- a seat supported above a deck of the boat by the platform, the seat configured to move between a forward-facing configuration and an aft-facing configuration,
- wherein the seat rotates about a seat axis when moving between the forward-facing configuration and the aft-facing configuration,
- wherein the seat comprises a forward seating surface and an aft seating surface, wherein the forward seating surface is aligned with the deck when the seat is in the forward-facing configuration and wherein the aft seating surface is aligned with the deck when the seat is in the aft-facing configuration;
- wherein, when the seat is in the forward-facing configuration, a seating height of the forward seating surface above a deck on which the platform is mounted is greater than a seating height of aft seating surface when the seat is in the aft-facing configuration.

A method of modifying a seat system of a boat, the method comprising:
- rotating a seat of the seat system between a forward-facing configuration and an aft-facing configuration, wherein the seat comprises a forward seating surface and an aft seating surface, wherein the forward seating surface is aligned with the deck when the seat is in the forward-facing configuration and wherein the aft seating surface is aligned with the deck when the seat is in the aft-facing configuration;
- wherein the rotating comprises rotating the seat about a seat axis aligned with a deck of a boat to which the seat system is attached;
- wherein, when the seat is in the forward-facing configuration, a seating height of the forward seating surface above a deck on which the platform is mounted is greater than a seating height of aft seating surface when the seat is in the aft-facing configuration;
- and
- securing the seat in the forward-facing configuration after rotating the seat to the forward-facing configuration from the aft-facing configuration.
