Abstract
Disclosed herein is a crown comprising a steerer tube boss, a first upper tube boss, and a second upper tube boss. The first upper tube boss and the second upper tube boss reside on a plane on opposing sides of the upper tube boss, wherein the plane comprises the central axis of the first upper tube boss and the central axis of the second upper tube boss. There is a first arm to connect the first upper tube boss to the steerer tube boss, as well as a second arm to connect the second upper tube boss to the steerer tube boss. At least one of the first arm or the second arm comprises at least one bore that extends in a direction that is substantially normal to the plane.
Claims19
A crown comprising:
- a steerer tube boss;
- a first upper tube boss;
- a second upper tube boss, wherein the first upper tube boss and the second upper tube boss reside on a plane, wherein the plane comprises the central axis of the first upper tube boss and the central axis of the second upper tube boss, and wherein said plane does not include a central axis of said steerer tube boss;
- a first arm to connect the first upper tube boss to the steerer tube boss;
- and
- a second arm to connect the second upper tube boss to the steerer tube boss, at least one of the first arm or the second arm comprises at least one bore, wherein said crown is topologically configured to achieve weight, stiffness, and stress thresholds, wherein said crown is topologically configured using a process selected from the group consisting of:
- an additive process, a subtractive process, and a combination of additive and subtractive processes.
A crown comprising:
- a steerer tube boss;
- a first upper tube boss;
- a second upper tube boss, wherein the first upper tube boss and the second upper tube boss reside on a plane, wherein the plane comprises the central axis of the first upper tube boss and the central axis of the second upper tube boss, and wherein said plane does not include a central axis of said steerer tube boss;
- a first arm to connect the first upper tube boss to the steerer tube boss;
- and
- a second arm to connect the second upper tube boss to the steerer tube boss, at least one of the first arm or the second arm comprises at least one bore, wherein the at least one bore is covered with a material, wherein said crown is topologically configured to achieve weight, stiffness, and stress thresholds, wherein said crown is topologically configured using a process selected from the group consisting of:
- an additive process, a subtractive process, and a combination of additive and subtractive processes.
A crown comprising:
- a steerer tube boss;
- a first upper tube boss;
- a second upper tube boss, wherein the first upper tube boss and the second upper tube boss reside on a plane, wherein the plane comprises the central axis of the first upper tube boss and the central axis of the second upper tube boss, and wherein said plane does not include a central axis of said steerer tube boss;
- a first arm to connect the first upper tube boss to the steerer tube boss;
- and
- a second arm to connect the second upper tube boss to the steerer tube boss, at least one of the first arm or the second arm comprises at least one bore, wherein the at least one bore is covered with a material, wherein a topology of said first arm and said second arm is restructured to have the same weight and have increased physical characteristics, wherein said crown is topologically configured to achieve weight, stiffness, and stress thresholds, wherein said crown is topologically configured using a process selected from the group consisting of:
- an additive process, a subtractive process, and a combination of additive and subtractive processes.
