Work vehicle with interchangeable power take offs

A work vehicle comprising:

• a chassis supported by front ground-engaging wheels or tracks and rear ground engaging wheels or tracks;
• a housing supported by the chassis, the housing defining an access opening positioned between the front ground-engaging wheels or tracks and rear ground engaging wheels or tracks;
• a motor housed within the housing;
• and
• a transmission driven by the motor, the transmission comprising a power take-off (PTO) assembly, the PTO assembly comprising:
• a PTO shaft;
• an input arrangement coupled to a rotatable drive shaft and having a clutch that is engageable to transfer rotational power from the drive shaft to the PTO shaft;
• a rear PTO arrangement having a rear PTO output shaft extending from a rear of the transmission and couplable to a first gear train powered by the rotational power from the PTO shaft;
• a countershaft couplable to the first gear train of the rear PTO arrangement to receive the rotational power from the PTO shaft and having an output gear at an intermediate location of the transmission forward of the rear PTO arrangement and proximate an access opening of a housing of the transmission;
• and
• an auxiliary removable middle PTO arrangement removably attachable to the transmission housing at the access opening and having a middle PTO output shaft and a second gear train configured to mesh with the output gear of the countershaft to drive the middle PTO output shaft with the rotational power from the PTO shaft.
