Claims17
A carpentry tool for adjusting a cutting angle for cutting a workpiece relative to a cutting device comprising:
- a main body comprising a first side and a second side, the first side and the second side each having a first end and a second end;
- an adjustable mechanism configured to adjust the cutting angle on the workpiece for the cutting device;
- and
- a lead guide segment connected to the end of at least one of the first side and the second side, the lead guide segment configured to align the cutting device for cutting the workpiece,
- wherein the first end of the first side is connected to the first end of the second side and the lead guide segment is connected to the second end of at least one of the first side or the second side, and at least the first side comprises a slide track,
- wherein the adjustable mechanism comprises a slidable member being configured to slide along the slide track,
- wherein a supporting structure connects the first side and the second side and includes an anchor edge configured to engage the workpiece, and
- wherein the slidable member is configured to be positioned in a non-engaging position and an angle engaging position in the slide track, such that in the non-engaging position, the supporting structure is configured to engage the workpiece along an entire length of the supporting structure, and, in the angle engaging position, the slidable member is configured as one anchor edge and the supporting structure is the other anchor edge on the workpiece,
- wherein in the non-engaging position, the slidable member is configured to be slid in the slide track below a plane formed along the supporting structure connecting the first side and second side.
