Abstract
The present application provides a method for manufacturing a metal foam. The present application can provide a method for manufacturing a metal foam, which is capable of forming a metal foam including uniformly formed pores and having excellent mechanical properties as well as the desired porosity, and a metal foam having the above characteristics. In addition, the present application can provide a method capable of forming a metal foam in which the above-mentioned physical properties are ensured, while being in the form of a thin film or sheet, within a fast process time, and such a metal foam.
Claims10
A method for manufacturing a metal foam comprising applying an electromagnetic field to a green structure formed by using a slurry,
- wherein the applying of the electromagnetic field to the green structure sinters the green structure to form the metal foam,
- wherein the green structure, formed by coating the slurry on a plate, is a film having a thickness of 200 μm or less,
- wherein the slurry consists of a metal component, water, ethyl cellulose, and a binder,
- wherein the metal component comprises a conductive metal having a relative magnetic permeability of 90 or more or an alloy comprising the conductive metal,
- wherein the water is contained in the slurry at a ratio of 80 to 300 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the metal component,
- wherein the ethyl cellulose is contained in the slurry at a ratio of 10 to 100 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the metal component,
- wherein the binder has a solubility in the water of 100 mg/mL or more at room temperature,
- wherein the metal foam has a porosity of 80% or more, and
- wherein the electromagnetic field is formed by applying a current in a range of 250 A to 400 A at a frequency in a range of 250 kHz to 400 kHz for a time of 1 minute to 30 minutes.
