Abstract
A sinterable paste formulation usable as cast material in a cast-mold process, in combination with a mold material formulation, is provided. The sinterable paste formulation comprises a power of a sinterable material, in an amount of at least 85% by weight of the total weight of the formulation, a binder material as described in the specification, and an organic vehicle, as described in the specification. The formulation is preferably devoid of water. Methods employing the formulation and objects and products obtained therefrom are also provided.
Claims22
A sinterable paste formulation usable as a cast material in a cast-mold process in combination with a mold material formulation, the sinterable paste formulation comprising a powder of a sinterable material, a binder material and an organic vehicle, wherein an amount of said powder is at least 85% by weight of the total weight of the formulation;
- and an amount of water in the formulation is less than 1% of the total weight of the formulation, and wherein said organic vehicle comprises at least one organic material that has an evaporation rate in a range of from 0.3 to 0.8, on an n-butyl acetate scale, in an amount of at least 50% by weight of the total weight of the organic vehicle,
- wherein:
- said powder of said sinterable material comprises a plurality of spherical particles having an average particles size (d50) lower than 20 micrometers;
- said organic vehicle further comprises at least one organic material that has an evaporation rate higher than 2, on an n-butyl acetate scale;
- a total amount of said organic vehicle ranges from 4 to 15% by weight of the total weight of the formulation;
- and
- an amount of said binder material is no more than 10%, by weight of the total weight of said formulation.
