Abstract
The present invention discloses a detection apparatus, comprising a base layer, wherein the base layer comprises a groove for containing a testing element and a sample chamber for collecting a fluid sample. The detection apparatus can achieve fast, efficient and accurate detection of analytes in liquid samples, make operators to perform testing conveniently and freely, without causing incorrect results. In some preferred modes, the sample chamber comprises a liquid channel.
Claims30
A detection apparatus for detecting an analyte in a liquid sample, comprising:
- a channel, being configured to contain a part of a test strip therein, comprising an opening;
- and the opening dividing the channel into a first channel and a second channel;
- the second channel forming a sample chamber being configured to contain a part of a sample applying area of the test strip;
- the opening being in fluid communication with the sample chamber, wherein the opening is configured to allow a liquid sample to enter into the sample chamber for contacting the part of the sample applying area when an end of the detection apparatus with the opening is inserted into the liquid sample;
- and
- a liquid channel, disposed on a bottom of the sample chamber, wherein the liquid channel is configured to be in fluid communication with the sample chamber and to eliminate air in the sample chamber when the liquid sample enters into the sample chamber so as to allow the liquid sample to fill the sample chamber, and wherein a size of the liquid channel makes the liquid sample stored in the sample chamber unable to flow out of the sample chamber through the liquid channel due to a surface tension.
A method for detecting an analyte in a liquid sample, comprising:
- providing a detection apparatus comprising:
- a channel being configured to contain a test strip therein, the test strip comprising a sample applying area and a test area;
- a sample chamber being configured to contain a part of the sample applying area therein;
- an opening dividing the channel into a first sealed channel and a second channel, the first sealed channel accommodating the test area of the test strip and the second channel forming the sample chamber;
- an opening being in fluid communication with the sample chamber;
- and
- inserting an end of the detection apparatus with the opening into the liquid sample for a period of time so as to make the liquid sample flow into the sample chamber through the opening, wherein the detection apparatus further comprises a liquid channel disposed on a bottom of the sample chamber, when the end of the detection apparatus with the opening is inserted into the liquid sample for the period of time, the liquid channel eliminate air in the sample chamber so as to allow the liquid sample to fill the sample chamber, and wherein a size of the liquid channel makes the liquid sample stored in the sample chamber unable to flow out of the sample chamber through the liquid channel due to a surface tension.
