A system comprising:

• a first robot;
• and
• a second robot, wherein the second robot comprises:
• one or more processors;
• and
• one or more computer-readable media having stored thereon instructions that, when executed with the one or more processors, cause the system to:
• transmit control information for causing a motion of an appendage of a first robot;
• receive, from a first sensor mounted on the first robot, first contact information indicating contact between a first housing of the first robot and a second housing of a second robot;
• receive, from a second sensor mounted on the second robot, second contact information indicating the contact between the first housing of the first robot and the second housing of the second robot;
• determine whether the contact is active contact by identifying that a contact event occurred on a moved portion of the first robot based on identifying a hand of the first robot in motion based on the first contact information according to a positional relation at a time of contact event occurrence between the hand of the first robot and a trunk of the first robot;
• and
• determine a score for a competition between the first robot and the second robot by increasing a score of the first robot when the first contact information indicates an active contact event on the moved portion and the second contact information, received within a predetermined time window relative to the first contact information, indicates a passive contact event, in accordance with the first contact information indicating the contact, the second contact information indicating the contact, and the contact being active contact.

A method comprising:

• transmitting control information for causing a motion of an appendage of a first robot;
• receiving, from a first sensor mounted on the first robot, first contact information indicating contact between a first housing of the first robot and a second housing of a second robot;
• receiving, from a second sensor mounted on the second robot, second contact information indicating the contact between the first housing of the first robot and the second housing of the second robot;
• determining whether the contact is active contact by identifying that a contact event occurred on a moved portion of the first robot based on identifying a hand of the first robot in motion based on the first contact information according to a positional relation at a time of contact event occurrence between the hand of the first robot and a trunk of the first robot;
• and
• determining a score for a competition between the first robot and the second robot by increasing a score of the first robot when the first contact information indicates an active contact event on the moved portion and the second contact information, received within a predetermined time window relative to the first contact information, indicates a passive contact event, in accordance with the first contact information indicating the contact, the second contact information indicating the contact, and the contact being active contact.

One or more non-transitory, computer-readable media having stored thereon instructions that, when executed with one or more processors, cause a first robot or a second robot to, at least:

• transmit control information for causing a motion of an appendage of the first robot;
• receive, from a first sensor mounted on the first robot, first contact information indicating contact between a first housing of the first robot and a second housing of the second robot;
• receive, from a second sensor mounted on the second robot, second contact information indicating the contact between the first housing of the first robot and the second housing of the second robot;
• determine whether the contact is active contact by identifying that a contact event occurred on a moved portion of the first robot based on identifying a hand of the first robot in motion based on the first contact information according to a positional relation at a time of contact event occurrence between the hand of the first robot and a trunk of the first robot;
• and
• determine a score for a competition between the first robot and the second robot by increasing a score of the first robot when the first contact information indicates an active contact event on the moved portion and the second contact information, received within a predetermined time window relative to the first contact information, indicates a passive contact event, in accordance with the first contact information indicating the contact, the second contact information indicating the contact, and the contact being active contact.
