Flame arresters and end housings for flame arresters

A flame arrester comprising:

• a first end housing including:
• a first pipe section having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the first pipe section having a first constant inner diameter extending entirely along a first length between the first end and the second end;
• a first connection flange extending from the first pipe section at the first end;
• and
• a first body flange extending from the first pipe section at the second end;
• a second end housing including:
• a second pipe section having a third end and a fourth end opposite the third end, the second pipe section having a second constant inner diameter extending entirely along a second length between the third end and the fourth end;
• a second connection flange extending from the second pipe section at the third end;
• and
• a second body flange extending from the second pipe section at the fourth end;
• a body coupled between the first body flange and the second body flange, the body having a third inner diameter along a third length between the first and second body flanges, the third inner diameter larger than the first and second constant inner diameters;
• a flame cell disposed in the body, the flame cell having a first side, a second side, and a plurality of channels between the first and second sides;
• and
• a crossbar disposed in the body, wherein the crossbar is clamped between and in contact with an inner surface side of the first body flange and the first side of the flame cell, and wherein the crossbar is in contact with an inner surface of the body such that the crossbar is axially and radially constrained in the body.
