Needleless connector with support member

A needleless connector comprising:

• a body section comprising an inner surface forming an internal cavity, a proximal end of the body section defining a female luer fitting, wherein the inner surface forms fluid channels;
• a base section comprising a distal end of the base section defining a male luer fitting, a proximal end of the base section defining a rim that extends in a first direction that is transverse relative to a central longitudinal axis of the base section, the rim defining a recess with a bottom surface distally separated from a top surface of the rim, and the rim defining support ribs integral with the rim and extending from the rim into the recess in a second direction that is different than the first direction, and an air passage through the base section to an outer surface of the base section, wherein the support ribs extend across the recess, from a first portion of the rim to a second portion of the rim;
• and
• a compressible valve comprising a valve wall and a flange protruding radially from the valve wall, the flange comprising an outer surface and an inner surface, wherein, when the compressible valve is coupled with the body section and the base section, the flange is compressed between the body section and the rim of the base section, the fluid channels form a fluid flow path around the flange and between the outer surface of the valve wall and the inner surface of the body, and the air passage forms an air flow path between an internal cavity of the compressible valve to the outer surface of the base section.
