Heating assembly for a vapour generating device

A heating assembly for a vapour generating device, the heating assembly comprising:

• a heating device configured to heat a body comprising a vaporisable substance, wherein the heating assembly is configured to supply power to the heating device to heat the body to volatilise the vaporisable substance, a quantity of the vaporisable substance in the body thereby reducing on heating;
• a passage configured to allow gas to be drawn over the body;
• and
• a controller configured to:
• monitor and store vaporisable substance quantity information of the quantity of the vaporisable substance in the body by determining an amount of previous usage of the body based on stored time the body has been heated for and/or a stored number of times gas has been drawn over the body during heating,
• set a maximum power level suppliable to the heating device based on the stored vaporisable substance quantity information,
• provide the set maximum power level to the heating device to heat the body,
• determine a water content of the body based on a rate of increase of a surface temperature of the body, and
• based on said determination of the water content, provide a reduced power level to the heating device to heat the body at a reduced temperature for a waiting period to decrease the water content.
