Infusion pump with add-on modules

An ambulatory infusion pump system, comprising:

• a pump configured to deliver insulin to a user;
• a wireless communications interface;
• at least one processor communicatively coupled to the pump and the wireless communications interface, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
• deliver insulin therapy to the user with the pump;
• establish wireless communications with a user device;
• receive a wireless communication from the user device indicating that the user is exercising;
• and
• modify one or more parameters of the insulin therapy while the user is exercising, wherein the communication from the user device indicates a specific activity of the user, and
• wherein the modification based on the specific activity is based on a category of activities that the specific activity belongs to.
