Abstract
Described herein generally are sterilization devices that can allow sterilization of luminal connection ports. Methods of using these devices are also described.
Claims26
A sterilization device comprising:
- a body comprising at least one indicator light, a battery, an optical sensor, and a light source;
- and
- an adapter cap comprising a lens and an RFID chip wherein the RFID chip is configured to allow communication between the adapter cap and the body;
- wherein the body and the adapter cap are connected in a manner so that only the adapter cap includes an aperture configured to accept a luminal connection port;
- and
- wherein the adapter cap does not include a light source.

A sterilization device comprising:
- a body comprising at least one indicator light, a battery, an optical sensor, and a light source;
- a threaded adapter cap including a lens, and a clear substrate that irreversibly changes color indicating the completion of the sterilization;
- and
- an inter-locking circuit connected to the threaded adapter cap wherein the threaded adapter cap is configured to accept a luminal connection port;
- wherein the body and the adapter cap are connected in a manner so that only the adapter cap includes an aperture configured to accept a luminal connection port;
- and
- wherein the adapter cap does not include a light source.
