Abstract
A method for reducing mortality resulting from viral infection, reducing viral load resulting from viral infection, or increasing immunity to viral infection in a subject is described. The method comprises administering a hybrid protein comprises a first domain comprising a sequence encoding a surface protein of an enveloped RNA virus and a second domain comprising a sequence encoding an ectodomain of a type 2 transmembrane domain protein, wherein the second domain is located at the C-terminal of the first domain. The hybrid protein or an mRNA encoding such protein can be used as a vaccine against the infection of the enveloped RNA virus.
Claims24
A method for reducing viral load resulting from infection with an influenza virus in a subject in need thereof, comprising:
- administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising:
- 1) a hybrid protein comprising:
- a) a first domain comprising an ectodomain of an influenza hemagglutinin (HA) protein;
- and
- b) a second domain comprising an ectodomain of an influenza neuraminidase (NA) protein, wherein the second domain is located at the C-terminal of the first domain;
- and
- 2) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
A method for increasing immunity to an influenza virus infection in a subject in need thereof, comprising:
- administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising:
- 1) a hybrid protein comprising:
- a) a first domain comprising an ectodomain of an influenza hemagglutinin (HA) protein;
- and
- b) a second domain comprising an ectodomain of an influenza neuraminidase (NA) protein, wherein the second domain is located at the C-terminal of the first domain;
- and
- 2) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
A method for reducing viral load resulting from influenza virus infection in a subject in need thereof, comprising:
- administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a hybrid protein comprising the sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS:
- 13, 24, 25, 26, and 27;
- and
- a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
A method for increasing immunity to influenza virus infection in a subject in need thereof, comprising:
- administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a hybrid protein comprising the sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOS:
- 13, 24, 25, 26, and 27;
- and
- a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
