Abstract
The present disclosure provides peptides that inhibit a binding interaction between a β integrin and a G protein subunit, as well as compositions, e.g., pharmaceutical compositions, particularly nanoparticle compositions, comprising the same and to methods of using the peptides to treat atherosclerosis, thrombosis, stroke, heart attack, inflammation, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), autoimmune diseases, AV Fistula for hemodialysis or organ transplantation.
Claims16
An engineered, lipid-stabilized, high-loading peptide nanoparticle comprising a) a peptide, b) one or more lipids free of a water-soluble polymer, and c) one or more lipids covalently attached to a water-soluble polymer,
- wherein:
- i) greater than 10 mole percent of the total nanoparticle mass is the peptide;
- ii) 2 to 20 mole percent of the total nanoparticle mass is the of one or more lipids free of a water-soluble polymer;
- and
- iii) 10 to 60 mole percent of the total nanoparticle mass is the one or more lipids covalently attached to a water-soluble polymer,
- wherein the peptide is a lipidated peptide, amphiphilic peptide, or a peptide conjugated to a hydrophobic molecule, and
- wherein the peptide consists of 5 to 50 amino acid residues.
