Bone graft containment system

A method of preparing an implantable bone graft device, the method comprising:

• providing:
• an open-ended bioresorbable casing comprising a cavity for receiving and containing a fill material and a surface having both micropores and macropores, wherein the macropores are created in a sheet of bioresorbable material by mechanical, chemical, or thermal process and patterned and sized to prevent the fill material within the cavity from escaping therethrough while allowing osteogenic cells to pass through;
• a holder comprising a body configured for receiving the open-ended bioresorbable casing and sized to accommodate the open-ended bioresorbable casing when filled;
• an inlet aligned with the body and sized to allow the open-ended bioresorbable case to pass through the inlet and into the body;
• a fill tube having a distal end having a cross-sectional profile sized to fit within the open-ended bioresorbable casing and the inlet;
• and
• a plunger sized to fit within the fill tube and configured to push a fill material through the fill tube and into the open-ended bioresorbable casing;
• and
• filling the open-ended bioresorbable casing with a fill material.
