Abstract
Lids for drinking containers with retractable spouts are disclosed. An example lid includes a body having an inner wall defining an aperture, a spout movable in the aperture between an extended position and a retracted position, and an annular valve between the spout and the inner wall, the annular valve to create resistance between the spout and the inner wall to impeded movement of the spout to the retracted position.

A lid for a drinking container, the lid comprising:
- a body having an inner wall defining an aperture;
- a spout movable in the aperture between an extended position and a retracted position;
- and
- an annular valve between the spout and the inner wall, the annular valve to create resistance between the spout and the inner wall to impeded movement of the spout to the retracted position;
- wherein the annular valve is coupled to an outer rim of a sealing ring, the sealing ring to move with movement of the spout.
