Abstract
An electronic circuit is presented. The electronic circuit is configured for being connected to at least one LED (light emitting diode) and at least one driver circuit. The driver circuit is configured for providing a driver current ID. The electronic circuit comprises: a bypass circuit configured for bypassing at least a portion of ID around the LED; and a detection circuit defining a threshold voltage Vth, wherein the detection circuit is configured for activating the bypass circuit when an output voltage Vout at the driver circuit drops below Vth, wherein Vth matches a minimum output voltage Vout,min of the driver circuit. Further, a driver system, a lighting system and a method for bypassing at least one LED are presented.

An electronic circuit configured for being connected to at least one light emitting diode (LED) and at least one driver circuit configured for providing a regulated driver current, wherein the driver circuit comprises at least one of a constant current sink and a constant current source, the electronic circuit comprising:
- a bypass circuit configured for bypassing at least a portion of the regulated driver current around the LED;
- and
- a detection circuit defining a threshold voltage, wherein the detection circuit is configured for activating the bypass circuit in response to an output voltage of the driver circuit dropping below the threshold voltage, wherein the threshold voltage matches a minimum output voltage of the driver circuit.
A driver system comprising at least one electronic circuit and at least one driver circuit configured for providing a regulated driver current, wherein the at least one driver circuit comprises at least one of a constant current sink and a constant current source,
- wherein the electronic circuit is configured for being connected to at least one light emitting diode (LED) and the driver circuit, the electronic circuit comprising:
- a bypass circuit configured for bypassing at least a portion of the regulated driver current around the LED;
- and
- a detection circuit defining a threshold voltage, wherein the detection circuit is configured for activating the bypass circuit in response to an output voltage of the driver circuit dropping below the threshold voltage, wherein the threshold voltage matches a minimum output voltage of the driver circuit.
A lighting system comprising at least one driver system and at least one LED,
- wherein the driver system comprises at least one electronic circuit and at least one driver circuit configured for providing a regulated driver current, wherein the driver circuit comprises at least one of a constant current sink and a constant current source,
- wherein the electronic circuit is configured for being connected to at least one light emitting diode (LED) and the driver circuit, the electronic circuit comprising:
- a bypass circuit configured for bypassing at least a portion of the regulated driver current around the LED;
- and
- a detection circuit defining a threshold voltage, wherein the detection circuit is configured for activating the bypass circuit in response to an output voltage of the driver circuit dropping below the threshold voltage, wherein the threshold voltage matches a minimum output voltage of the driver circuit.
A method for bypassing at least one LED by using at least one electronic circuit,
- wherein the electronic circuit is configured for being connected to at least one light emitting diode (LED) and a driver circuit configured for providing a regulated driver current, the driver circuit comprising at least one of a constant current sink and a constant current source, the electronic circuit comprising:
- a bypass circuit configured for bypassing at least a portion of the regulated driver current around the LED;
