Abstract
Inter-party communications, such as telephony communications, virtual meeting communications, or messaging communications, are switched between clients while in progress. An inter-party communication may be detected at a first client. A channel may then be opened between the first client and a second client responsive to an operator initiating switching the inter-party communication from the first client to the second client. The inter-party communication may be switched from the first client to the second client using the channel while the inter-party communication remains in progress. The inter-party communication may then be continued at the second client.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- determining, based on a first client entering an ultrasonic range of a second client, that the second client is available for switching an inter-party communication from the first client to the second client;
- receiving an indication to switch the inter-party communication to the second client;
- and
- switching the inter-party communication from the first client to the second client using a software platform while the inter-party communication remains in progress,
- wherein the first client is a mobile device and the second client is other than a mobile device.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions operable to cause one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- determining, based on a first client entering an ultrasonic range of a second client, that the second client is available for switching an inter-party communication from the first client to the second client;
- receiving an indication to switch the inter-party communication to the second client;
- and
- switching the inter-party communication from the first client to the second client using a software platform while the inter-party communication remains in progress,
- wherein the first client is a mobile device and the second client is other than a mobile device.
A system, comprising:
- a server running software configured to:
- determine, based on a first client entering an ultrasonic range of a second client, that the second client is available for switching an inter-party communication from the first client to the second client;
- receive an indication to switch the inter-party communication to the second client;
- and
- switch the inter-party communication from the first client to the second client using a software platform while the inter-party communication remains in progress,
- wherein the first client is a mobile device and the second client is other than a mobile device.
