Abstract
Systems and methods of constructing and managing virtual planograms are presented. Contemplated systems allow for construction of a virtual planogram, which can be used to present consumers virtual inventory items as being available for purchase via a display device. The display device can include an electronic billboard within an establishment, a mall for example, or include a user's smart device, a cell phone or tablet for example.
Claims22
A computing-device augmented reality marketplace system, comprising:
- at least one digital camera that captures real-time image data;
- at least one digital display;
- at least one computer readable non-transitory memory storing software instructions;
- and
- at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory, the at least one digital display, and the at least one digital camera, wherein the at least one processor performs the following operations upon execution of the software instructions:
- capturing real-time video data of a physical environment via the at least one digital camera;
- converting features in the physical environment from the real-time video data into digital image features;
- analyzing the digital image features to identify at least one environment-dependent presentation constraint of the physical environment;
- obtaining at least one virtual planogram selected based on the identified at least one environment-dependent presentation constraint to generate a bias-corrected augmented reality display;
- rendering an augmented reality view on the at least one digital display by superimposing virtual inventory items on the real-time video data according to the at least one virtual planogram;
- and
- enabling a user to initiate a transaction for at least one of the virtual inventory items via the at least one digital display.
A method comprising:
- capturing real-time video data of a physical environment via the at least one digital camera;
- converting features in the physical environment from the real-time video data into digital image features;
- analyzing the digital image features to identify at least one environment-dependent presentation constraint of the physical environment;
- obtaining at least one virtual planogram selected based on the digital image features identified at least one environment-dependent presentation constraint to generate a bias-corrected augmented reality display;
- rendering an augmented reality view on the at least one digital display by superimposing virtual inventory items on the real-time video data according to the at least one virtual planogram;
- and
- enabling a user to initiate a transaction for at least one of the virtual inventory items via the at least one digital display.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer instructions stored thereon, which, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform the operations of:
- capturing real-time video data of a physical environment via the at least one digital camera;
- converting features in the physical environment from the real-time video data into digital image features;
- analyzing the digital image features to identify at least one environment-dependent presentation constraint of the physical environment;
- obtaining at least one virtual planogram selected based on the digital image features identified at least one environment-dependent presentation constraint to generate a bias-corrected augmented reality display;
- rendering an augmented reality view on the at least one digital display by superimposing virtual inventory items on the real-time video data according to the at least one virtual planogram;
- and
- enabling a user to initiate a transaction for at least one of the virtual inventory items via the at least one digital display.
