Abstract
A plurality of computing devices are communicatively coupled to each other via a network, and each of the plurality of computing devices is operably coupled to one or more of a plurality of storage devices. The computing devices may use local caches in a coherent manner when accessing the plurality of storage devices.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- a first computing device;
- and
- a second computing device operably coupled to one or more storage devices, wherein:
- the second computing device is configured to provide a token, associated with the one or more storage devices, to the first computing device in response to a lease request from the first computing device,
- the token is configured to govern access by the first computing device to the one or more storage devices, and
- the token is configured to define caching permissions associated with the access.
