Abstract
A modular pump and motor system including a modular frame and motor stool is disclosed.
Claims10
A method of preparing a pump and a motor combination for use, the method comprising the steps of:
- choosing a selected pump from a plurality of pumps;
- choosing a selected motor from a plurality of motors;
- securing the selected pump to a pump flange extending radially inward from an annular wall of a motor stool;
- securing the selected motor to a motor flange extending radially inward from the annular wall of the motor stool;
- securing a motor output shaft for rotation with a pump input shaft;
- securing the selected pump to a first frame cross member chosen from a plurality of nominally identical frame cross members;
- securing the selected motor to a second frame cross member chosen from the plurality of nominally identical frame cross members;
- securing the first frame cross member and the second frame cross member to a first frame side member chosen from a plurality of nominally identical frame side members;
- and
- securing the first frame cross member and the second frame cross member to a second frame side member chosen from the plurality of nominally identical frame side members.
