Abstract
A piezoelectric composite comprising (a) an olefin copolymer and (b) a plurality of piezoelectric filler particles is disclosed. Each of the plurality of piezoelectric filler particles can be dispersed in the olefin copolymer. Also disclosed are films containing such piezoelectric composites and methods of preparing such films.
Claims13
A piezoelectric composite, comprising:
- an olefin copolymer comprising a first monomer of ethylene or propylene, polymerized with any of 1-butene, 4-methyl-1-pentene,1-hexene, 1-octene, 1-decene, 1-dodecene, 1-tetradecene, 1-hexadecene, 1-octadecene, and 1-eicosene;
- and
- a plurality of piezoelectric filler particles dispersed in the olefin copolymer,
- wherein the olefin copolymer is an ethylene-octene copolymer represented by the general formula:
- wherein the ethylene-octene copolymer comprises from 10 to 40 wt. % octene.
