Chair

A chair comprising:

• a lower structure configured to be placed on a floor surface;
• a backrest support member supported by the lower structure;
• and
• a backrest supported by the backrest support member, wherein
• the backrest includes
• a backrest body fixed to the backrest support member and provided with an opening portion that opens downward, and
• a tensile material provided on the backrest body and having a lower end portion that is locked on the backrest body,
• the backrest body includes a plate-shaped backrest main body fixed to the backrest support member and provided with a load-supporting surface that supports a load of a seated person,
• the backrest support member is inserted into the opening portion of the backrest body and is disposed on a rear side of the backrest main body,
• the backrest body includes a rearward overhanging member provided with the opening portion and overhanging rearward from the backrest main body,
• the tensile material includes
• a front tensile material portion disposed in front of the backrest body, and
• a rear tensile material portion disposed behind the backrest body, and
• the rearward overhanging member includes
• a front tensile material support portion disposed in front of the backrest support member and provided with a first locking portion on which the front tensile material portion is locked, and
• a rear tensile material support portion disposed in a side area of and behind the backrest support member and provided with a second locking portion on which the rear tensile material portion is locked.
