Abstract
A system for enhancing sterility includes a first surgical glove including an upper glove portion and a lower glove portion. A surgical garment includes at least one surgical garment cuff and a sealing device including a first adhesive. The first adhesive of the sealing device is configured to be affixed between an inside surface of the lower portion of the first surgical glove and an outside surface of the at least one surgical garment cuff so as to provide a fluid seal between the first surgical glove and the at least one surgical garment cuff of the surgical garment.
Claims15
A method comprising:
- donning a surgical garment comprising:
- a cuff;
- and
- a sleeve, wherein the cuff is distal to the sleeve at a distal end of the surgical garment;
- donning a surgical glove;
- and
- forming a seal between the surgical glove and the cuff using an adhesive sealing device, wherein forming the seal comprises forming the seal such that a surface of the adhesive sealing device is applied on an outside surface of the cuff such that a diameter of the cuff is present on a distal side of the adhesive sealing device and present on a proximal side of the adhesive sealing device, wherein forming the seal comprises forming a fluid tight and airtight seal.
A method comprising:
- donning a surgical garment comprising:
- a cuff;
- and
- a sleeve, wherein the cuff is distal to the sleeve at a distal end of the surgical garment;
- donning a surgical glove;
- and
- forming a seal between the surgical glove and the cuff using an adhesive sealing device, wherein forming the seal comprises forming the seal such that a surface of the adhesive sealing device is applied on an outside surface of the cuff such that a diameter of the cuff is present on a distal side of the adhesive sealing device and present on a proximal side of the adhesive sealing device;
- and
- establishing a positive air pressure within the surgical garment and the surgical glove relative to outside the surgical garment and the surgical glove.
