Communication method and apparatus

A second node comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a transceiver,
• wherein the processor and transceiver are configured to cooperatively operate to carry out a communications method comprising:
• receiving configuration information provided by a donor base station node incorporating a central unit and distributed unit (CU-DU) pair, wherein the configuration information indicates time-frequency information of a system information block 1 (SIB1) of a distributed unit (DU) function of a first node that is a child integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node, and wherein the second node is a parent IAB node of the first node;
• and
• determining, based on the time-frequency information of the SIB1 of the DU function of the first node, an unavailable resource of a mobile termination (MT) function of the first node,
• wherein the configuration information comprises time-frequency information of a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel (SS/PBCH) block, and
• wherein the determining comprises:
• determining, based on the time-frequency information of the SS/PBCH block of a DU of the first node, a time-frequency resource for sending the SIB1 by the DU of the first node;
• and
• determining the time-frequency resource for sending the SIB1 by the DU of the first node as the unavailable resource of the MT function of the first node.

A first node comprising:

• a processor, configured to determine time-frequency information of a system information block 1 (SIB1) of a distributed unit (DU) function of child integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node;
• and
• a transceiver, configured to cooperate with the processor to send configuration information to a second node,
• wherein the configuration information indicates the time-frequency information of the SIB1,
• wherein the first node is a donor base station node, and the second node is a parent IAB node of the child IAB node, and
• wherein the donor base station node incorporates a central unit and distributed unit (CU-DU) pair,
• wherein the second node, based on the time-frequency information of the SIB1 of the DU function of the first node, performs determining an unavailable resource of a mobile terminal (MT) function of the first node,
• wherein the configuration information comprises time-frequency information of a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel (SS/PBCH) block, and
• wherein the determining comprises:
• determining, based on the time-frequency information of the SS/PBCH block of a DU of the first node, a time-frequency resource for sending the SIB1 by the DU of the first node;
• and
• determining the time-frequency resource for sending the SIB1 by the DU of the first node as the unavailable resource of the MT function of the first node.
